1 : I have been smoking for a long time, so it is impossible to quit smoking.

All of these reasons sound just “excuse” for me. If you seriously want to quit smoking, you could quit for sure. If you are the person who can not quit smoking, you are thinking like ” I don’t need to quit smoking” in your mind somewhere.
I used to smoke, so I want to tell “how I quit smoking”, “what happened on the process I quit smoking” on this article.
“The trigger” and “Motivation”
I used to smoke 20 cigarettes(1 box) a day, but one day, I smoked 40 cigarettes a day. Next day, my throat got damage and could not smoke properly. It was the time before I went to Canada, so I thought that it was a “good trigger” to quit smoking. However, my throat recovered soon, so I needed “Motivation” to quit smoking completely.

The price of cigarettes is expensive as well as the ones in Canada. Probably, the price of cigarettes is more expensive in Australia, but I guess that the price of cigarettes is more expensive than 10 years ago in Canada. I went to Canada twice. When I went to Canada for the first time, I was smoking. I used to smoke 7 Canadian dollars one (made in Canada one), and it was not really taste… but no choice because Marlboro was very expensive( I think that it was more than 10 Canadian dollars) . I wanted to smoke 20 cigarettes everyday, but I endured and smoked 50-60 cigarettes a week. At that time, Japanese currency was weak, so even 50-60 cigarettes a week, it was expensive.
I spent 80-90 Canadian dollars a month just for cigarettes. It was stupid… I thought that I couldn’t save money if I don’t quit smoking when I go to Canada again.
☆ In the future, I don’t want my future wife and children to smoke.
When you have your children in the future and if your children ask you or other children ask you
” Why do you smoke? Smoking is not good for health”
What do you reply for the question? You might replay like
1 : “I know that smoking is not good for health, but I cannot quit smoking.”
2: “Cigarette makes me clam down.”
3 :”Smoking is not good for health, so you shouldn’t smoke”
All the answers are bullshit for me… Even you say “Smoking is not good for health, so you shouldn’t smoke”, It doesn’t have any convincing at all.
I read an article before and the article said “If a mother smokes, the percentage that her children would smoke in the future would increase”. The reason is that generally children see mother often than their father, so children learn more from their mother when they are kids.
” I don’t want my future children to smoke ⇒ I don’t want my future wife to smoke ⇒ I shouldn’t smoke”
This is my another motivation to quit smoking.

1 : “Alcohol”
I know that when you drink alcohol, you have a sudden urge to smoke. Your will get weaker. So you had better to quit alcohol temporarily as well. Fortunately, I didn’t have much opportunities to drink alcohol at that time.
2 : “Smoking friends”
Even your friends know that you are try to quit smoking, some friends ask you to smoke. Some of your friends might respect your will and don’t ask you to smoke, or not try you to take smoking area, but anyways, you have a strong mentality to quit smoking.
3 : “Don’t buy cigarette”
I think that this is the first step to quit smoking. If you don’t buy cigarettes, you don’t smoke. It is simple. Your enemy is only people who offer you cigarettes.
What happened to my body after I quit smoking.
1 : I was smoking in my dream for a month.
I was smoking in my dream almost everyday for a month. I smoked in my dream, and got up, smoked in my dream, and got up again and again… I didn’t expect that I had a dream to smoke.It was a really hard time. I thought “It might be OK to decrease the number of cigarettes to smoke”,
however, at the same time, I thought it might be impossible to quit smoking forever if I have that naive idea, so I endured.
2 : 5 month later after I quit smoking, I smoked just once while I was traveling in Korea
One of my Korean friends was a smoker. I drunk with him and he had a cigarette. I was happy to travel in Korea. It was a perfect condition to smoke… My mind was loosen and smoked… I really felt guilty and decided not to smoke anymore after I go back to Japan, and actually, I could quit smoking.
3 : Automatically, my body started to reject for the smell of cigarette.
Now, my body and throat have completely rejection for the smell of cigarette. Sometimes, I feel that I want to throw up when I smell cigarette. I heard that same thing happens to my friends who quit smoking. If you reach to this stage, you never feel that you want to smoke anymore.
Something I got and lost when I quit smoking.

I got ” Saving money” and “Health” after I quit smoking, however, I lost the chance to talk with my friends at a smoking area. In Japanese, there is a word “Tabacommunication”. The word consists of “Tabaco” and “Communication”. It is a Japanese English. Sorry, sometimes, Japanese people like to make strange words…When I made friends with first foreign best friend, Luis, we communicated a lot at the smoking area, so cigarette is not only harm. I heard that some decision of the companies are made in the smoking area. I am not sure in other countries, but in Japan, it happens.
I think that it is very difficult to quit smoking just for health. If you go to hospital and doctor says ” If you quit smoking now, you would pass away 6 months later with cancer”, you might be able to quit smoking though… Basically you need “High motivation” to quit smoking. High motivation is very important to achieve other things as well.
Everyone has different personality and talent, so I think that you had better to find your own way to quit smoking. Please analyze your personality and talent, and find the good ways. I just think that if my advice on my blog are helpful for you, I am so happy.
